Jane Igo worked as a registered nurse in Colorado Springs for ten years under Alfred Speirs, M. D. at Speirs Clinic for Plastic Surgery before starting her own business, Timeless Beauty by Jane Igo. “Nothing makes me happier than that first appointment when a woman feels so good about the way she looks. It’s an amazing feeling.”
She didn’t get her start in plastic surgery, though. She began as a trauma nurse in Kansas City in 1970, where she worked at a fast-paced emergency room treating inner-city patients. “I’ll never forget leaving the farm I grew up on in Missouri for the first time. I couldn’t wait for the challenge of nursing school.” Eventually she became a private scrub nurse for Dr. Martin Crow a plastic surgeon in Kansas City, and so began her love of cosmetic nursing.
It was in Kansas City where she met and married her husband, Bob, who was an officer in the Air Force. Jane continued to work as a registered nurse until she was a stay-at-home mom for her three children, Jennifer, David, and John. “Family is always the most important to me. I missed the challenges of the hospital, but raising kids, driving to sports, and being a part of the PTO…those were fun challenges too that I wouldn’t trade for anything. ”
Finding herself with an empty nest, she turned to her love of nursing by working for Dr. Speirs, for whom she performed all dermal filler injections. “When Dr. Speirs closed his private practice, the only way I could be 100% sure my patients got the same level of care was to work for myself. I like to take my time with patients and I don’t care if it takes an extra thirty minutes here or an hour there to make sure they are as comfortable during the procedure as they are happy with their result.”
Jane uses Radiesse, Juvederm, Belotero, BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin depending on the unique needs and desires of each client. Her non-surgical treatments at Timeless Beauty by Jane Igo are meant to give patients a more youthful look for a fraction of the cost of plastic surgery, and she’s already very happy in her new practice. “I love meeting women and helping them. It’s hard to describe how great it feels to help a woman feel like her beautiful self.”
